Take the ACT/SAT

Plan to take your first ACT or SAT in the spring (March–June)

This gives you time to retake it in the fall of your senior year if needed.

• Do you qualify for a free ACT Waiver- Struggling to pay for the ACT? Did you know that you could qualify for an ACT waiver? Students can qualify for up to two ACT waivers during their time in high school. 
• What scores should I be aiming for? 

Baseline: College Readiness is defined by an 18 in English and a 22  in Math. This means that you have a 75% chance of passing your college-level coursework 

• 18 in English 
• 22  in Math
• 20 Composite score allows you to qualify for TOPS

What should I do if I don’t have these scores? 

You can still apply to test-optional schools. These schools allow you to apply for admission without submitting standardized test scores.
