Take the ACT/SAT

Take your first ACT or SAT in Spring.

Plan to take your first ACT or SAT in the spring (March–June)

This gives you time to retake it in the fall of your senior year if needed.

Baseline: College Readiness is defined by an 18 in English and a 22  in Math. This means that you have a 75% chance of passing your college-level coursework 

  • 18 in English 
  • 22  in Math
  • 20 Composite score allows you to qualify for TOPS

What should I do if I don’t have these scores? 

You can still apply to test-optional schools. These schools allow you to apply for admission without submitting standardized test scores.
