An emergency scholarship fund designed to help students stay enrolled
The Persistence Scholarship is an emergency scholarship fund designed to help students stay enrolled in college when unexpected financial barriers arise. Unlike traditional scholarships that are awarded annually, this support is provided at critical moments during the school year, typically when a student has an outstanding balance that would prevent them from registering for classes or continuing their education.
By covering these immediate costs, the scholarship ensures that students are not forced to stop out of school due to financial hardship. It’s a safety net that allows them to stay on track toward graduation, protecting the progress they’ve already made and preserving their momentum.
The financial support from College Beyond has been instrumental during my freshman year at the University of New Orleans. By significantly reducing the financial burden, it has allowed me to fully focus on my Political Science studies and my long-term goal of becoming an attorney. Thanks to this stability, I have been able to get actively involved in campus life by joining the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Army ROTC program, where I am developing leadership and discipline. This support has given me the peace of mind to pursue my academic and professional goals with confidence.
